American Idol’s latest contestant has some well-known DNA.
Baylee Littrell, son of Backstreet Boys singer Brian Littrell, kicked off season 23 together with his audition on March 9, performing an unique tune on his guitar for judges Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie.
After his emotional efficiency, the judges inspired the 22-year-old to convey his dad out with him, and the duo sang the refrain of Baylee’s tune collectively.
Fittingly, Baylee shared his motivation, giving his dad credit score for being the one to get him enthusiastic about music—and for sharing a few of his expertise.
“I imagine I get my voice from Dad, and hopefully I can do him justice in the present day,” he shared. “I assume you’ll be able to say music runs in our household. Dance moves-wise, that is the one factor genetically that didn’t go down.”
He added, “Following in my dad’s footsteps is horrifying, as a result of his profession, to me, is without doubt one of the most extraordinary in music historical past. Nobody can ever evaluate.”
